This isn’t your usual deadline email, but hey, it’s my Dad’s birthday and it’s more important I talk about him.

He’s the yin to my grandfather’s yang.

Always conservative with his investments, in fact he’s only owned 1 individual stock in his entire life… with the rest in mutual funds (later replaced by low cost ETFs).

And you know what, that approach worked for him.

He’s 69 today, and in his 14th year of retirement…

He spends his days golfing, travelling and his new obsession… learning Mandarin Chinese

I’m not kidding, he decided to do it 3 years ago on a whim and visits China 3-4x a year as part of his practice.

Basically he lives life on his own terms… not having to answer to anyone (except maybe my Mum)

And that’s ultimately why we play this game right?

The destination isn't a number in a brokerage account…

It's when Tuesdays feel like Saturdays… or learning Mandarin at 66 because why not?

My Dad got there with index funds and patience…

Other people get there faster with a more active strategy.

There's no single road… just the one that actually gets you there.

Which brings me to Investormania II, May 14-16 in Tampa.

We sold out last year, and once the seats are gone, that's it — the recordings and the pre-event strategy call go with them.

If you want to spend more of your future doing whatever the equivalent of learning Mandarin on a whim is for you, this is worth three days of your May.
