Yesterday, $2.3 trillion vanished from the Nasdaq-100 in a single session.
AMD fell 17%… Micron fell 17%… Nvidia lost 9%…
And the headlines are already asking if the AI boom is over.
I've seen this movie before though…
And here's the biggest thing I've learned from running Capital Gains Multiplier since 2021…
My best recommendations didn't come when everyone was excited.
They came when everyone was scared.
Let me show you.
February 2023 - Investors were still shell-shocked from the 2022 bear market, and growth stocks were being treated like radioactive waste.
I recommended Medpace, a clinical research company most people had never heard of.
Up 219% - versus 84% for the S&P 500.
March 2023 - Silicon Valley Bank had collapsed 11 days earlier. People were pulling money out of banks and asking if 2008 was happening all over again…
That week, I gave CGM members CrowdStrike.
It's up about 539% since
May 2023 - First Republic had just become the second-largest bank failure in US history. Nobody wanted to touch anything with "bank" in the name.
So I recommended a bank. Nubank, Latin America's digital bank.
Up 90% since, comfortably ahead of the market.
Across all 12 picks I made between February 2023 and January 2024, a stretch that started in the wreckage of 2022 and ran straight through a banking crisis, the average return is 141.8%, almost double the S&P 500.
Not every one worked - Enphase lost more than 80%.
And I don’t shy way from those either
But here's the point…
None of those picks came from being brave or deliberately contrarian, they came from a process.
When you know exactly what a business does, what it's worth, and what would have to go wrong to break your thesis… then a sell-off stops being scary and it becomes a sale.
When you don't, you sell at the bottom. Every time.
Which brings me back to what happened this week…
Earlier today I ran 17 AI stocks through a full base case and a bear case analysis what happens to 2027 earnings if the data-center backlash that just won at the ballot box actually bites?
A lot of the "bargains" fall apart… for example AMD goes to 72x earnings. ARM goes to 94x.
But 3 stocks stand out more than any other… still reasonably priced even in the bear case, with fortress balance sheets behind them.
One is Nvidia - around 24x earnings even if you cut its estimates.
The other two, including one that actually benefits from the political backlash, I'm walking through with CGM members on a special live call on Monday, along with the full bear-case scorecard.
If you want to be on that call, now is the time to join. Because this is the last time you'll be able to join CGM this way.
In 2027, CGM moves to an annual subscription, and relaunches as a full platform
But join before November 30 and you become a founding member with lifetime access, including the new platform and every future upgrade.
You'll never pay the annual fee.
Want to talk it through first? Book a time here: https://calendly.com/d/cvz7-28f-fw2/chat-about-cgm
The market will panic again. It always does.
The only question is whether you'll be the one selling, or the one buying.
Oliver
P.S. Every pick I've shown you above was made on a day that felt a lot like Thursday. Founding-member pricing ends November 30. After that, CGM is an annual subscription, for good.
